MArienplatz

rathausplatz

Marienplatz is not only the central square in Munich’s city center and the focal point of the pedestrian zone, but it is also one of the landmarks of the Bavarian capital, attracting visitors from all over the world every day.

The square is surrounded by cafes, department stores, and the New Town Hall to the north. In the middle of the square is the Marian column from 1638.

The gilded figure is the heart of Munich – the so-called zero point from which the kilometer measurements of Munich’s streets into the surrounding area begin.

ViktuAlienmarkt

Feast and enjoy.

The Viktualienmarkt in the heart of the old town has a history dating back almost 200 years. Originally, it was a farmers’ and herb market.

In addition to the many market stalls, you can also find fountains with figures of Munich originals at the Viktualienmarkt.

Get inspired and stroll leisurely through the Viktualienmarkt. Enjoy a coffee from the coffee stand or try unique cheese, sausage, and bread varieties.

Many Munich residents do their fresh shopping here. From local mushrooms to exotic durian fruit.

You can reach the Viktualienmarkt directly from the S-Bahn “S1” stop “Marienplatz” located behind the hotel.

Oktoberfest

5th season

The Oktoberfest, also known as the “Wiesn,” originated in 1810 when the Bavarian Queen Therese and Crown Prince Ludwig celebrated their wedding with a grand horse race. This event was so successful that it became an annual tradition and over time evolved into a festival featuring beer, food, music, and entertainment.

The centerpiece of the Oktoberfest is the numerous beer tents where various breweries serve their famous beer varieties. The beer tents are often gigantic and can accommodate thousands of people dressed in traditional attire such as lederhosen and dirndls. Beer is not only a delight but also an integral part of Bavarian culture.

You can reach the Wiesn directly from here by S-Bahn in about 20 minutes.
